Easy Creamy Fettuccine Alfredo
Posted on By Nina Safar @thekosherkitch
This creamy fettuccine Alfredo is rich, comforting, and easy to make. Tender pasta gets tossed in a smooth Parmesan cream sauce for a cozy dinner that feels indulgent without a lot of work. It is delicious on its own. However, you can also add sautéed mushrooms, roasted vegetables, or your favorite protein to make it more filling.
Ingredients
8 oz fettuccine pasta
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for serving
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Then, cook the fettuccine according to the package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Meanwhile, melt the butter in a large skillet or saucepan over medium heat.
- Next, whisk in the heavy cream. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring often, until the mixture begins to simmer.
- Lower the heat. Then, slowly whisk in the Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt.
- Continue whisking until the cheese melts and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
- After that, add the cooked fettuccine to the sauce. Toss until the pasta is fully coated.
- Cook for another 1 to 2 minutes, stirring gently, until the pasta is warm and the sauce thickens slightly.
- Finally, serve right away with extra Parmesan cheese on top.
Tips and Variations
Add a squeeze of lemon juice or a splash of white wine for extra flavor.
To make it heartier, mix in sautéed mushrooms, broccoli, or roasted vegetables.
You can also finish the dish with chopped parsley or chives for a fresh pop of color.
For the creamiest texture, serve the pasta immediately after tossing it with the sauce.
