Onion Pie:
- August 8, 2011

This recipe is adapted from Dining In Again page 86. I added my pie crust recipe, and sauteed the onions before adding the soup. You don’t have to lattice, but it is breath taking to see!

Crust Ingredients:
2 cups of flour
1 tsp of salt
3/4 cup crisco
4-8 Tbsps ice water (have a glass filled with ice and add some water before you start)

Filling Ingredients:
4 large vidalia onions, chopped
2-3 Tbsps of oil for sauteing
1/2 tsp of salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 can french onion soup (Rokeach brand)
1 egg beaten for the wash on top of lattice.
sesame seeds for on top.

Fudgey Flourless Chocolate Cake:

This cake is for the real chocolate lovers amongst you. It is best when made one or two days in advance of serving it.

Prep time: 15 minutes Baking time: 45 minutes

Ingredients:
7 ounces semi sweet pareve chocolate
½ cup very strong coffee
1 cup sugar
1 cup non-dairy margarine- soft
4 eggs

Blueberry Bars:
- June 22, 2011

Ingredients:
2 1/4 cups flour
1/2 cup ground almonds
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup (or 1 1/2 sticks) unsalted margarine
1 cold egg (or 1/3 cup egg beaters)
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups blueberries, fresh, frozen, or canned (or pie filling)

Chocolate Sauce:

This is an easy sauce to whip up and serve with dessert. It’s great drizzled over cheesecake, or used as a dipping sauce for fresh fruit and pretzels.

2 containers of rich whip frozen non dairy creamer
1 semisweet chocolate bar broken into pieces
1 teaspoon vanilla

Rich & Creamy Cheesecake:

Whether served plain, topped with fresh fruit or drizzled with a sweet chocolate sauce, cheesecake lovers will devour this rich and creamy cheesecake.

Ingredients:

Crust:
4 tablespoons melted butter or margarine
1 tablespoon sugar
2 cups of graham cracker crumbs (about 15 crushed graham crackers)

Cheesecake:
3 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup milk
1 1/2 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
1 large egg yolk
3 large eggs
Fresh berries or shaved chocolate bar for garnish
