French Fries (frozen cooked or freshly sliced potatoes baked)
1 large ball of Fresh Mozzarella, cut into small pieces (or shredded mozzarella)

2 T earth balance
2 T flour
1 cup vegetable broth
1/4 t black pepper
1 T soy sauce (add more if you want a darker gravy)

To prepare gravy, melt earth balance in a pot over low heat. Add flour and whisk until combined. Slowly add broth. Whisk until combined. Continue whisking over medium heat until mixture thickens. Season with pepper. Add soy sauce and combine. Place french fries a serving dish, then top with mozzarella. Layer hot gravy over cheese and serve immediately.

** Tips & Tricks: You can make this dish completely vegan by swapping out the mozzarella for vegan shredded cheese.

    • Hi Danielle! I was first introduced to Poutine as a kid when I went to visit cousins in Montreal (it’s popular there) and have been a fan ever since. Earth balance is basically a non dairy butter such as margarine, only healthier.
