Pizza Margarita

Pizza crust or pre-baked pizza dough (6 minutes at 500 degrees)
Olive oil
Shredded mozzarella, divided in half
Sliced tomatoes
1/4 – 1/2 cup Don Pepino pizza sauce
1/3 of a Trader Joe’s marinated mozzarella log, cut into chunks
Salt and pepper
2 TBSP shredded Parmesan
1 handful of fresh basil, chopped

Brush olive oil on a pizza crust or pre-baked pizza dough. Top with half of the shredded mozzarella you plan to use. Top with sliced tomatoes. Top with Don Pepino sauce. Top with remaining shredded mozzarella and chunks of marinated mozzarella. Sprinkle salt and pepper on top. Put in 500 degree oven for 6 minutes and then sprinkle shredded Parmesan on top. Put back in oven for 6 more minutes and then take it out and sprinkle chopped fresh basil on top. Let sit for 5 minutes.

  • You are SO right about the Don Pepino pizza sauce! It really tastes like pizzeria sauce. Haven’t had the pleasure of the Trader Joe’s marinated mozzarella log, tho.
