Stuffed Pastry Apples:

Ingredients:

frozen pastry dough
Macintosh apples
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup cinnamon

Directions:

Combine the cinnamon and sugar. Peel apples and remove the core, then roll them in cinnamon & sugar mixture. Place the apples in the center of the pastry dough, and wrap around the apple. Place on baking sheet and bake uncovered on 350 for about 45 minutes. You can sprinkle powered sugar on top before serving.

    While this does look delicious, I’m not sure why this would be filed under Healthy Snacks. Pastry dough is made with white flour and is loaded with margarine. And there is added sugar.

    You are right that it is not the healthiest snack however it is definitely a healthier alternative to many desserts people usually serve, which is why I think it fits well under healthy snacks.

    You can use as many apples as you would like. It’s one square of pastry dough per apple.
