I love the idea of using fresh herbs such as basil, cilantro and dill when cooking, but I NEVER know which dishes to pair them with. Any tips? – N.D.

The truth is, fresh herbs can be used to freshen up almost any dish and can really work all across the board, but some are classic combinations. I highly recommend the book “Culinary Artistry” (Link below) it literally breaks down flavor components and pairs them with their perfect food/spice, etc. It even tells you which are in season and which ingredients are indigenous to what cultures .That being said, think of Basil as Mediterranean, Cilantro as Asian & South American and Dill as European. ~ Chef Sandy of “The Kosher Tomato
